......The
website author Dr. Weber has published 3 well-received articles in the peer-review
Journal of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Weber is the only dermatologic surgeon
to have contributed to this prestigious journal and to have lectured to the
most respected American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
at its annual meeting.
......Dr.
Weber trained in Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery at the Ivy League's most prominent
training program at the University of Pennsylvania. While there he studied under
the world-renowned Oculoplastic Surgeon, Dr. Alan Wulc. At that time, Drs. Weber
and Wulc performed the world's first liposuction fat transfer into the eye socket.
......Ophthalmic
Plastic (Oculoplastic) Surgeons are ophthalmologists (eye doctors) specially
trained in cosmetic and repair
surgery just around the eye. Eye surgeons (not general plastic surgeons) developed
the "eyelid lift," otherwise known as blepharoplasty or cosmetic eye
surgery. Oculoplastic Surgeons train for years in eye surgery in their fellowships.
......Dr.
Weber was extremely fortunate to have been able to train under one of the most
famous eye plastic (Oculoplastic) surgeons in the world, Dr. Alan Wulc, former
Chief of the Scheie Eye Institute of the University of Pennsylvania. It was
the opportunity of a lifetime.
......Dr.
Weber testifies as an expert witness in eye plastic surgery when attorneys call
him for difficult cases. He also develops new instrumentation and procedures
in the field of ophthalmic plastic surgery. Dr. Weber is extremely nearsighted
at 20/240 and is able to use 7-0 stitches stereoscopically (with depth perception)
in skin for near-perfect skin alignment. The 7-0 stitches are the smallest made,
thinner than a human hair. Dr. Weber his extensive expertise in laser surgery
and has pioneered laser techniques that make it extremely difficult to find
a stitch line. He is, as well, an artist and sculptor. He believes in using
natural lines and markings so that patients have a long-lasting (15-20 year)
effect that does not look artificial. Dr. Weber has performed thousands of eye
plastic surgery cases in addition to his busy skin-cancer and cosmetic-surgery
practice. Please carefully observe the photographs which have not been altered
