Photographs showing three very benign and common lesions: sebaceous hyperplasia which is the yellow donut like lesion, lentigos which are the freckles that are distributed all over this woman's cheek and a mole which is located closer to the eyelid on the bottom left which is a benign nevus. Note the relatively uniform color and mound-like appearance of the benign mole.

Totally benign freckles (lentigos) that patients sometimes confuse for melanoma.

Totally benign, non-harmful, seborrheic keratosis of the trunk. This is commonly confused with melanoma and there is even a variety of melanoma called verrucous melanoma that can mimic seborrheic keratosis. Note the scaling and trapped pearls of horny material at the surface of this lesion.
