Melanoma with white halo surrounding. Gray, black, brown & white colors lie with in this lesion. The white halo is the body's immune system killing nearby normal pigment cells in an effort to react to the pigment cells of the melanoma. The loss of the normal surrounding pigment turns the skin white (like an albino) and highlights the melanoma.
